Not an INTERPOL service. This site is not affiliated with INTERPOL or the CCF. The navigator does not check any private database, establish eligibility, predict outcomes or transmit an official request. In urgent national detention/extradition situations, local counsel must be contacted immediately.
Educational guidance only. This tool does not search INTERPOL records, assess legal eligibility, send data to CCF, or replace qualified legal advice.

| Route | The question it puts | Period | What it cannot do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Access request | What personal data INTERPOL processes about the applicant | Four months from admissibility, extensions possible | It does not by itself remove or amend anything |
| Correction or deletion | Whether the data comply with INTERPOL’s rules | Nine months from admissibility, extensions possible | It does not decide guilt or cancel a national warrant |
| Revision under Article 42 | Whether a newly discovered fact could change an earlier decision | Six months from discovery of the fact | It is not an ordinary appeal against a decision one dislikes |
| Urgent consideration | Whether the matter warrants interim attention | No guaranteed timing | It does not stay detention or extradition proceedings |
Official submission instructions are published by the Commission itself: Official INTERPOL CCF Portal Instructions. This page does not submit anything on your behalf.
Understand what each CCF route can address
| Route | Usual starting question | What it does not decide |
|---|---|---|
| Access request | What personal data concerning me, if any, are processed in INTERPOL's Information System? | Whether the requesting state's criminal case is valid or whether a border is safe |
| Correction or deletion | Is identifiable personal data inaccurate or contrary to INTERPOL's data-processing rules? | Criminal guilt, acquittal, extradition or national warrant cancellation |
| Revision after a CCF decision | Is there a newly discovered and relevant fact that could have altered the earlier decision? | A general second hearing on unchanged material or an unlimited appeal |
| Urgent provisional measures | Is there documented urgency that warrants a request for interim protection within the CCF's mandate? | A guaranteed immediate stay of a local court or detention order |
| National court / extradition counsel | What defence deadlines, domestic warrants and legal remedies apply here? | A decision on INTERPOL data by national counsel alone |
Path A — You are unsure whether a notice exists
The public Red Notice website is a partial selection, not a complete registry. Absence from that website cannot confirm that no data are held privately. Where appropriate, a CCF access request may help clarify the situation, subject to disclosure restrictions and admissibility. Use the guide to checking a Red Notice for steps and limits.
Path B — You have an official document or confirmed record
Establish the type of data, requesting authority, nature of the alleged offence and the evidence you hold. A request for correction or deletion is different from an access request, and the 2025 amendments concerning certain direct NCB-to-NCB exchanges mean jurisdiction cannot be assumed merely because an alert is called a diffusion. See Diffusion Removal and CCF Deletion Requests.
Path C — The CCF already reached a decision
A disappointed applicant cannot simply file a conventional 'appeal' for a second opinion. Article 42 provides for revision based on newly discovered and relevant facts that might have affected the earlier decision, subject to its timing and other criteria. If you have no new material fact, the navigator should not present revision as an automatically available option. See Revision Applications.
Path D — You face arrest, detention or an extradition deadline
A national court may set a deadline that is shorter than any CCF process. Contact counsel qualified in that jurisdiction now. A CCF request for provisional measures may be considered separately where appropriate and supported by documents, but it does not automatically suspend a local extradition proceeding, cancel a domestic warrant or authorize travel. See Urgent Provisional Measures.
Submission channel and limits
Since 26 March 2026, the CCF's dedicated secure online portal is the usual mandatory channel for requests for access, correction/deletion or revision. The Commission may permit alternative methods only where it has identified exceptional circumstances under Rule 25(2). The CIL navigator never submits anything to that portal and is not linked to its systems.
A CCF process can coexist with legal work in the state where an individual is located and with counsel dealing with the original criminal proceeding. The roles must be distinguished: an INTERPOL data challenge and national arrest or extradition litigation are not interchangeable.
Frequently asked questions
Is a Red Notice an international arrest warrant?
No. INTERPOL describes it as a request to locate and provisionally arrest based on an underlying national warrant or court order. Each state applies its own law.
Can the CCF approve an extradition or decide that I am innocent?
No. Its mandate concerns processing of data in INTERPOL's Information System, not adjudicating national criminal charges or ordering a state to grant or refuse extradition.
Can the navigator tell me whether a diffusion is reviewable?
Only at the level of potential questions. The exact data-processing channel and amended CCF jurisdiction rules need a case-specific assessment; the term diffusion alone is not determinative.
Will the navigator submit a request for me?
No. It links to informative resources and CIL's contact page. Actual requests must be filed through the Commission's official process by the applicant or a duly authorised representative.
